Robotic nurses in our future…is it moral? Is it human?

It’s Toyota’s latest creations. Yes you read it right, cause in Toyota’s origins there were not cars, there were robots. Now this technology’s giant is trying to face a problem that is assuming much more weight in these last years: Japan’s aged population…

As a matter of facts birth-rate in Japan is around 0% and a lot of young people suffer of psychical diseases. The further step is clear: who will take care of old ones? Toyota’s solution is clear: robots!  Well, I’m not used to be a “middle-class” closed woman, however this news is hurting me a little bit: in my honest opinion robots should be created in order to save human lives, in order to substitute us in really hard works while they should not mask us which really is our nature. I mean, we all have to die sooner or later and I do think that our “human side” is visible in our dark times, when we are not at the top, like in our childhood or after our retirement. Is the man going to look at himself only if he is good looking, young and strong? How much stupid can we be? How much subhuman (robots) can we be? It’s a risky question, is a fundamental answer.
