How old are you? Why 1999?
Last week Photoshop entered in its 20s. For sure it’s an incredible strong news and I’m sure you followed the whole online event. However this caused me to think a little bit… which are the code-jams I use most? And how old are them?
So I had a quick search online, using “most used” “top rated” “sw” keywords… I was searching for a simple chronological list of the better known. No results. However I found this interesting website: http://wakoopa.com/software that offers you some updated lists based on users’ choices. Let’s do the dirty work: these are my top-used apps and their ages ordered by hours of usage!
- Firefox : released on April 2003
- Windows Live Messenger: released on 1999
- Skype : released on September 2002
- Whole Adobe Suite : released on February 1990
- Open Office : released on August 1999 as StarOffice
- Corel Painter : released on 1999
- Pixologic ZBrush : released on 1999
Don’t you find strange that so many useful software have been presented on 1999 ? Uhmn !
